VINTAGE & UNUSUAL LARGE WOODEN PROTRACTOR (DRAFTSMAN?)

Description

Large, vintage, unusual wooden protractor w/ black markings & handle (photos).
The protractor is 15" long on its horizontal side, 7 1/2" on vertical and each wing is 2" in width (photos).
It is made w/ a core piece of wood & 2 pieces of veneer which appear to be maple or similar type wood (photos).
The degree marks, fixing arrow and numbering are done in black ink/paint, are clear, distinct and intact and show no wear. The "handle" or swivel is made of wood & securely attached to allow for precise & steady measurement. There is no identifying logo, makers' mark or other manufacturing attribution (photos).
I am not a tool collector nor do I profess any specialized knowledge in this area. I am guessing that the item is used by draftsmen based on generalized knowledge of a protractor's use & its unusual size.
