Vintage Terre De Retz Powder Box Made In France Bté SGDG.
Beautiful Terre de Retz made in France vintage powder box marked as such on the bottom.
Depicts a fashionable woman, could be Marie Antoinette, powdering her face or wig.
The lid is marked "Bté S.G.D.G" meaning "Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement“ (patent without government guarantees) on the underside.
There are spots where the paint has chipped, like her forehead. I tried to take a nice close up photo to show exactly how she looks, so bear in mind, she looks much better at normal magnification, don't we all? lol
There are some spots inside the container that are missing paint too, but for the age of the piece, it's in remarkably good shape! It still smells lovely like powder.
