THIS IS A VINTAGE SILVER LADIES COMPACT, WITH HIDDEN LIP- STICK COMPARTMENT.  IT IS BELIEVED TO BE STERLING, ALTHOUGH NO MARK COULD BE FOUND (OTHER SIMILAR COMPACTS ON THE INTERNET ARE STERLING). P.S.... WHILE THE COMPACT IS BELIEVED TO BE OVER 50 YEARS OLD, THE PARTIALLY USED LIP-STICK IS STILL MOIST!  GREAT FOR COLLECTORS OF VINTAGE COSMETIC ITEMS!
