Vintage R. Blackinton & Co. Sterling & 14K Gold Compact w/Mirror-Monogrammed

Description

Compact measures a little less than 3" long, a little less than 2 1/4" high, and 3/8" thick. Overall, it's in very good condition for its age. You can see in the pictures the left and right corners in the front are dented just a little bit. The 14K gold bands on the top of the lid are just thin layers of gold. The bands are not as thick as the lid. The mirror inside the lid has cloudy spots (that don't show up in the pictures very well), especially on the top part. The mirror has no cracks. The latch still works well. This piece weighs 83 grams, but I don't know how much the mirror factors in that number. Inside the lid, on the left edge, are the hallmarks of the R. Blackinton & Co. with the number "2546" next to them. To the left of those it's marked "14k & Sterling". It has the letters, "R" and "L" monogrammed on the top of the lid.
