    Description

FLIP THE FROG PLANTER 1930S CERAMIC Black & White FIGURAL Planter
    UB IWERKS DISNEY CARTOON
This vintage Black and White container is an early original piece of cinema and comic character history.  “FLIP THE FROG”  was created by UB IWERKS, the leading artist for Walt Disney as part of the early Disney Studios.
The hand-painted container was manufactured in Japan and imported to the United States in the early 1930s.   Now about 90 years old, these are becoming harder to find. Stamped “Made in Japan,” it has no glazing on the bottom, similar to the other items from this series.
It is in good vintage condition and measures 4 ¼” L x 2 ¾” W  x 3 ¼” H.  Nice paint and glaze with no crazing noted. No chips.  It has two hairline fractures which show aging and no repairs. (see photos)  No attempts have been made to clean the interior.  The rounded curve on the bottom is not a fracture but the original mold indentation seen in others made from this same series.
