Description
Presented today is this vintage Plains Indian bonnet bag. It comes from an estate of a dear, departed friend who was a respected lecturer, teacher and museum curator. She was part Cheyenne, and lectured and demonstrated extensively on Plains Indian cultures. Also, in the 1960's, shetraveled the northern plains on the Pow Wow circuit, participating in dances, either singly or with a dance troupe. i believe this bag is much older than that, and was part of her artifact collection. It measures 5 inches across and 17 inches in length, not counting the fringe. The leather is in very good, albeit beautifully worn and patinated. There is very faint traces of a painted decoration. The original pigment is in much better condition on the bottom of the bag, and perhaps there may be enough left to give an idea of the original design. Very intriguing! This may well be a most important artifact. Bid with confidence, for as you all know, if the winner is unsatisfied for ANY reason i will immediately return the full purchase price, including return shipping. This bonnet bag would look great in your collection. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always Best Regards, Mary
