    Very Rare Stratnoid Early Powder Compact Dancing Couple Butterfly Wing
    Very rare and much sought after antique collectable Stratnoid powder compact. Early Stratton 1920s Jazz Age Art Deco butterfly wing foil compact depicting a lady and gentleman. The lady appears to be wearing a ballerina tutu style dress for dancing and the man appears to be wearing a frock coat and tights. The scene is reverse painted on Celluloid, foil backed, giving a shimmering butterfly wing effect to the sky and the blue of the pond behind them. Loose powder would be contained by Stratnoid's Non Spill mechanism with a rotating cover for the powder compartment. The metal lid of the interior compartment is grooved in the same manner as the substrate for guilloche enamel work. The compact measure approx 2 inches.
    Almost 100 years old the compact is in near excellent condition with just a tiny loss of silver to the mirror around the edges.
