Here is great old 10 piece drafting tool set from Theodore Alteneder & Sons of Philadelphia, PA, in its original leather, or I'm guessing faux leather case with velvet lining. Good condition . " T heodore Alteneder & Sons, Philadelphia, USA" appears on the silk banner inside the case. Two of the larger instruments are marked with "T. Alteneder & Sons Patent 1871." One ebony handled tool is marked "T. A. & Sons." The rest appear to be unmarked but seem original to this case. There is a very small amount of surface rust on some of the tools that could easily be removed. The case (4 3/8" X 8 1/2") itself is in well-worn condition. The sliding closure clasps work well. Also, there are 3 pieces of replacement lead in the small nickel plated case. Overall, a very nice drafting tool set from the 19th century. Add it to your collection. Definitely worth a bid.
