SCARCE VINTAGE POWDER COMPACT CATS MOON 20K GOLD-PLATE c. 1949-1951 VERY RARE

Cat's Moon
Vintage Compact, made in USA - c.1949-1951
This scarce compact is oval in design, and is centered with a framed image of four gold-plated cats looking at the full moon.  The compact measures 2 7/8 x 2 3/8 x 1/2 inches.   It is in excellent vintage condition and has a strong hinge with a positive snap closure.  The upper lid carries an oval glass mirror with good reflection and some age foxing around.  This compact has no dents or dings.  The powder well is gold-plated and is also in excellent condition, and contains unused removable shifter and unused powder puff.  The base is in engine-turned matte-silver design, marked Made in USA.  The compact closes with a pleasant sound.  Please look at all pictures for more details.
This compact was made between 1949 -1951, and is one of the most scarce to find.  I doubt that there is a second one survived.  This compact was in my family for over 70 years.
