Robert Lee Morris 925 Sterling Silver Large Superman Brooch
This is another incredibly rare piece from Robert Lee Morris, created back when he was still designing Superman and Batman Jewelry for the Warner Brothers Boutique that was always tucked away in the back of the regular store.  While there does not appear to be a signature anywhere on the back [or I simply can’t find it], it is in the usual RLM style and remarkably heavy at 35.7 grams.  It measures a huge 55mm across, and may have been an actual prototype that was never put into mass production.
As far as I can tell, after searching online, it appears that Robert Lee Morris no longer sells any of his fine jewelry creations online.  He closed his Soho boutique in 2014, and there doesn’t seem to be any other presence in New York where he had been a major fashion force since the 1970’s.  The Warner Brothers stores that carried additional merchandise by this artist closed at the end of 2001.
