    RARE ART DECO BOOK PIECE BAKELITE TORTOISE SHELL NECESSAIRE WITH COMPACT from the 1920'S
    SIZE: 3 3/4" TALL, + 1/2" KNOB, CHAIN 5 1/2" doubled.  DIAMETER 3".  TOP COMPACT 1 1/2 +" , all approx.
    DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION:  RARE ART DECO BOOK PIECE BAKELITE CARMEL COLOR TORTOISE SHELL NECESSAIRE WITH POWDER COMPACT in the interior of lid, from the1920'S. Bolster shape, circular necessaire with gold tone metal top and bottom. Heavy link gold tone wrist chain. Interior lid unscrews to reveal compact and large interior for additional personal items.
    Lid unscrews correctly. Compact opens and closes correctly, good mirror. Gold tone brass on top of lid has some discoloration, some portions are shiny, and some are dull. See photos. Possibly could be refinished.
