Original 1943 WWII British Military Graniteware Canteen with Felt Wool Cover and Cork Stopper in Nice Condition!

This is an original 1943 British military canteen featuring a graniteware flask with a greenish-tan (quite faded, of course) felt wool cover.  The cork stopper is retained on a short piece of cord and is held together using an oval-shaped nut -- the cork itself is worn and damaged.  The bottom of the felt cover is marked with a maker, but is worn enough that I can't read it clearly (it could possibly be E&W or C&W or G&W, but I'm just not sure).  However, the year is easily made out as 1943.  It looks like there may also be another ink stamp just below and left of the oval with the initials and date stamp, but it's also very faded.
This canteen measures just under 9" tall and is roughly 5-1/2" wide.  It is kidney shaped.  The flask shows through the bottom of the felt where it has worn through the material from being carried and used.  The felt is in incredible condition for its' age (approaching 75 years!!).
If only this piece could talk, it would be VERY interesting to hear all it had to tell us about what it has seen and experienced.
This would make a great addition to any WWII or British Militaria collection!  I 100% guarantee this is an original -- beware of fakes and reproductions currently being offered.
