MINTY Antique STERLING Guilloche FOSTER & BAILEY Compact Hand Painted Flowers
Here is a handsome 1922 compact from FOSTER & BAILEY, prolific American manufacturers of ladies vanity items from the late 1800's to the 1950's. This gorgeous antique guilloche enamel compact features a hand painted guilloche lid decorated with hand painted basket of flowers. Very clean inside and outside. The enamel is pristine without cracks or chips to the guilloche enamel or image. All clasps close tight.
It is signed STERLING by the hinge. It is also signed around the rouge interior: Pat.4-4-22 PATS. PEND and F&B STERLING. The bottom features a beautiful guilloche engraving.
There are two powder wells, one for rouge and the other for facial powder. Both silk powder puffs are present and in excellent condition. Two mirrors are without cracks or damage and in great condition with hardly any wear just gentle, age related fog.
Overall condition is excellent, near mint antique with no visible wear to the exterior - please refer to pictures provided for your assessment.
The compact measures: 2 1/2” diameter, 3/4“ thick.
