" on inside of compact, see photos. 1920s. Gold tone metal hexagon compact. Lid inset is full-color printed image on unknown material of flower basket filled with summer flowers. Machined engraving on bottom side of compact. Hinged lid with swivel tab latch. Mirror on inside of lid has tiny bubble chip. Interior compartment still contains original powder for face, which would have been patted on with the little silk puff insert, also signed "
Houbigant
." Gold plating is worn from handling and polishing. Good condition. Why do they not make compacts like this anymore? Really sweet and special.
