Handmade Sterling Silver with Gold Overlay Enameled Pendant/Brooch.
This is an estate piece that is a handmade pendant/brooch that’s using the process of enameling. The layers of color with the enameling is like a watercolor painting. The award winning artist also added gold overlay, but I’m not sure what the karat weight is and I think it’s gold over sterling silver around the bezel and a little bit on the detail in the foliage (lower left corner, photo 8 & 9 and on the right side, see photo 10 & 11). The artist also put his initials “ch” on the front (photo 12) and on the back (photo 3). On the back he also stamped “925”. The back of the pendant is finished with a nice textured finish (photo 3). The back has the pin closure and a nice bale so it can be worn on various sizes of chain (see photo 3).
The manufacturing process and fine detail shows the quality of the craftsperson. His attention to detail is what makes this piece worth the money. This piece was created for a specific person based on her artwork and he used a lot of her concepts.
The size of this piece is 1 7/8” tall x 1 3/4” wide x 3/16” thick, so it a substantial piece. The opening of the bail is about 3/16” .
