Fine THOMAE COMPANY Sterling COMPACT / CHANGE PURSE-Engine Turned-NR

Description

For sale is a fine 1920s style sterling compact / change purse by the Thomae Company.  The piece is 3 3/4 inches long (including the loop) by 2 ¼ inches wide by 3/8 inch thick and weighs 92 grams complete.  It has a triangular hanging loop and a push tab catch at one end and a hinge at the other.  It has an embossed pattern around the exterior edges and engine turned decoration.  The interior top has a textured gilded surface.  The lower section has a hinged powder compartment with a mirror top and two spring-loaded coin holders.  It is monogrammed “S.M.K” in a rectangular cartouche on the lid.  It is marked “STERLING” with a Thomae trademark and “2759” on an inner rim, as well as “S6” on the powder compartment lid.
Condition on the compact is good.  There are just minor dings and spots and normal wear from use.  An attractive vintage sterling compact!
