Eagle Pencil Co ornate compass EAC Dec 11 94 metal case rare ink nib collectible

Description

This is an Eagle Pencil Co compass with scrollwork surface,
marking reads Dec 11 94,  It has a tip for pencil lead but no lead in it.   There is also a
nib for dipping in an ink well, a rare find.   Evidently its patent is from Great Britain.   The item has a beautiful patina.   The adjustment wheel does turn but with slight difficulty - I did not
open it beyond about halfway to maximum just out of respect for its age.   Comes with a lovely antique metal case, as shown, which closes with a definite click and is easy to open, and the edges come together nicely.   The fabric on the inside shows a little aging, as would be expected but it is all intact and very charming.    The exterior has a pleasant patina.
