DOUCETTE antique rouge powder mirrored compact case French Cosmetic Mfg Co 1925

Description

Scarce Doucette antique rouge powder mirrored compact case. Has a hinged lid with lift-up catch. According to the research, this compact/vanity case was made in approximately 1925 by The French Cosmetic Manufacturing Company, under Manager Frederick Schwannecke. The unusual shape is a decagon and has 10 floral and scroll segments on the top. It is silver tone metal with dark enamel within the design . The inside is mirrored and still contains a small amount of the original rouge-powder. The inside is marked Made in USA. The patterned base of the compact contains the word Doucette in the center, as well as the original label which specifies the color/shade of the rouge-powder, which is called Medium Theatre. This compact is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear or age. There are a few small discolorations, including around the label on the base. Please see photos.
