    Description

This two-tier basket has a Victorian look and is crafted of brown wicker. It features a lower and upper basket with woven sides and braided wicker rims. It stands slightly higher than end table height. Each basket has a wooden base. The table stands on four long, bowed legs with rattan wrapping and scrollwork details, and is held together with flathead screws.
Basket has all original hardware, nails & hinges and is missing its original handle. The complete woven wicker shows its natural finish, all of which is in nice condition considering its age.
This stand is in very good condition and was well cared for. It has been in our family for ~50 years.
    The stand is 18" wide x 16” deep x 32" tall.
The Heywood-Wakefield firm, founded in 1826 in Gardner, Mass., became well established as a maker of rattan and wicker furniture. Created by the 19th-century merger of two venerable Massachusetts furniture makers, Heywood-Wakefield was one of the largest and most successful companies of its kind in the United States. In its early decades, the firm thrived by crafting affordable and hugely popular wicker pieces in traditional and historical styles.
