RARE subject antique late 19th early 20th century DOG GUILLOCHE ENAMEL COMPACT. Beautiful and rare. For the compact collector, this will be one of your favorites, and for the dog collector hard to find dogs on these exquisite compacts of the era. Black and White Bull Dog in a pink flower garden. Marked what appears as "BB Co." Wonderful workmanship. Gold wash interior. Do not see silver marks  but will see if I can find and photograph. Appears to be sterling with gold wash interior, (cannot confirm, no testing), with guiloche enamel. Nice blue enamel with some light expected surface scratching on the back.  Still has some powder and needs to be cleaned. Dog Guilloche compacts are very very collectible and highly sought after. So smooth to the hand. Greatly evocative of the era. A collector's dream treasure. Don't miss.
