BLACKINTON STERLING ART NOUVEAU VINTAGE ENGRAVED LION & SWIRLS COMPACT HANDBAG

Description

This very heavy solid sterling silver gorgeous art nouveau vintage proud lion and feathery swirls compact is marked with Blackinton's hallmark, and STERLING 1018. Inside is a mirror, a place to hold nickles and dimes, and two compartments. As can be seen in the photo, the mirror has a crack and the original owner put tape on it. I believe the blank place near the lion is to have one's signature engraved. Measures 3-5/8" (9.2 cm) by 2-1/2" (6.4 cm) by 5/8" (1.6 cm) thick. The chain measures approximately 13" (33 cm). Weight is 259 grams. Has a few small dents and shows some wear as can be seen in the photos. There is a spot on top where a pencil would fit in. I do not have the pencil.
