Art Deco Richard Hudnut Le Debut Noir Black Cloisonne Powder Rouge Compact .
Very lovely Art Deco powder and rouge compact. Nestled inside it's original octagonal shaped fitted box, produced by Richard Hudnut in the 1920's, or perhaps into the early 1930's. Le Debut Noir ( The Black Start ). An octagonal shaped gold toned case featuring a black cloisonne lid. The back of the case has an unusual spider web design which compliments the shape of the compact. Inside are two compartments, one for powder and one for rouge. Only one powder puff is in evidence. The mirror is clear. The gold colored fitted box still has two of the original labels. Such an elegant compact. A great find and addition to any collection.
Compact measures approx 2" x 2".
Box measures approx 3" x 3".
Good antique vintage condition to commensurate with age and use. Some scratching on the back of the case ( honest ware ). Some rouge still there, most of the powder is absent. One powder puff missing. Some tiny specks of discoloration on the rouge cover. Snaps closed securely. Original fitted box  has some scuffs and some of the gold paper is missing.
