Rare Antique Sterling Georgian  / Early Victorian Acorn -Compact Purse- Powder Rouge Mirror - Mourning Purse?
We are offering an antique sterling silver compact handled purse, most likely from the Georgian to early Victorian era (could be from a woman of ill repute during the Early Victorian era), with the main body measuring about 3.5” and the whole piece measuring about 15.5” with the handle. The acorn capsule is beautifully detailed in a leaf-like design along both ends, and inside is a mirror that opens to reveal rouge with a small puff and a place for powder and a puff. Hidden inside the tassel is a small tube for lipstick.
This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good to excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The compartment for the face powder is stuck shut. Powder can be put in through the opening that moves  open and shut.
