Sterling back shows gentle surface wear and note that there is some glass surface loss to the guilloche at the top just under the hinge. Hinge is good and the compact closes and stays well aligned.Compact measures 2 inches in diameter, chain adds a drop of about 5 inches. The weight is 51 grams.

    Antique STERLING Marked ‘Crown Y Lion’ Silver & Gold Dance Compact Green Guilloche British 51Gr
    This is an antique sterling dance/wristlet compact with a green guilloche front and silver back, attached to a hand chain. Interior is coated in 11K gold and marked as such.
    The
    sterling stamp
    on the interior edge of the lid
    STERLING + crown+ Y+ Lion
    indicates a quality piece, probably British made because of the crown logo.
    The silver top beneath the enamel is engine turned with a radiating pattern, and hand painted flowers. The compact opens to a clean interior with clear mirror within the lid.
    Sterling back shows gentle surface wear and note that there is some glass surface loss to the guilloche at the top just under the hinge.
    Hinge is good and the compact closes and stays well aligned.
