    Description

Antique estate find lot of technical drawing instruments/drafting tools in felt lined wooden case by Paul Roessler Optician of New Haven CT.   The wooden case measures 8" x 4-3/4" x 2".  Paul Roessler of New Haven, Connecticut (1829-1904) was an optician and mathematical instrument maker.  The wooden case is felt lined and contains instruments as shown with the Paul Roessler trade name label pasted on the felt interior.
    The wooden case measures 8" x 4-3/4" x 2".
In addition to corrective eyeglasses and simple microscopes, Roessler was adept at producing mechanical apparatus.   Paul Roessler retired in 1893, and the firm became "Paul Roessler's Son" in 1894.
When I pulled down the small tab on the felt interior of the top lid, I found some old papers and sketches dating back to the early 1900's, including what appears to be a recipe for blue print ink - interesting.
