ANTIQUE GUILLOCHE COMPACT BAG
Sweet and petite antique silvertone metal compact bag measuring about 2" wide, 1/2" deep and 2-1/2" tall. Featuring a machined guilloche design on the back, front is decorated with a charming pierced filigree surrounding a tiny image of a sailboat - I think this is printed on celluloid. Shape is softly scalloped and banded around the edge is a pretty stamped design. Interior is fitted with a coin holder, small mirror and would probably have held a powder cake and tiny puff at one time - it is clean and empty now. Compact closes with a kiss latch and has a dainty molded loop for attaching a finger ring so it could be carried while dancing the night away.
Condition is very nice with minor usage marks and the cartouche of the sailboat has chipping, knocks and wear - does not detract a bit. Think this is just the sweetest little size and design - wonderful addition to any antique compact or bag collection/display!
