Antique EUROPEAN Guilloche ENAMEL SILVERPLATE COMPACT & MIRROR SET-w/BOX

Description

Up for bid is a vintage European silverplate and enamel compact and purse mirror set in its original presentation box.  The compact is about 1 5/8 inches in diameter by 3/8 inch thick, and the mirror is 3 ¼ inches long (including the loop).  The compact has a gilt interior and a small cotton applicator, but no powder.  The top of the compact and the back of the mirror are decorated with blue, white and brown guilloche enamel with gilt touches around the bust of a woman in profile.  The compact is marked “30” in the interior and “ALPACCA” on the back.  The set comes in its original black paper presentation box with satin interior.
Condition on the set is fairly good.  The set was likely never used, though there is a nick and some discoloration on the back edge of the compact from a foolish silver test.  The box has some exterior wear, and the liner has spots and discoloration.  Still a neat little set.
