IT IS CLEARLY MARKED ON THE PATTERNED INTERIOR "ELGIN CLOCK CO." IN A SHIELD AND "EAM".
IT IS SILVER PLATE AND MEASURES ABOUT 3 1/2" X 2 1/2" (3 1/8" TO TOP OF BALE HANDLE) X 5/8" THICK.
MANY OF THIS STYLE WERE USED IN VANITIES OF CLASSIC CARS!
COVERED IN ORNATE DESIGNS THERE IS A BLANK PLAQUE ON BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK. IT OPENS TO REVEAL A MIRROR IN AN EMBOSSED GOLD FRAME AND A COMPARTMENT THAT CONTAINS REMNANTS OF FACE POWDER, AN EMPTY ROUGE AND TINY LIPSTICK HOLDER. I
T HAS CERTAINLY BEEN USED, MUST HAVE BEEN HER FAVORITE AND HAS WEAR TO THE SILVER PLATE FINISH.
