1920 ART NOUVEAU BLUE ENAMEL COMPACT Mirror
A rare 1920's Art Nouveau Langlois enamel compact. Comes with powder compartment, lipstick holder, and blush container.
This compact screams 1920s Art Nouveau. Front and center is the cartouche of the company's floral basket done in a cream color enamel background. The front and back are enameled blue. The top extends the enamel to the beveled glass sides. The back is all blue enamel with a metal trim.
Inside, this compact is neatly arrainged with the blush compartment at the top, the lipstick holder in the middle and the bottom with the powder compartment. The lipstick and the blush both have stainless steel doors and hinges and snap neatly into place. The mirror is on the inside lid.
The compact measures 2 inches wide, 3 3/4 inches long and has a thickness of 3/8 inch.
This compact, while dating from 1920, is in remarkable condition. The enamel on the front and back is clear and vibrant and the metal is shiny and with only minor scrapes. The latch is still strong and holds the lid securely, and while the mirror has some minor foxing, it is still quite functional.
